The Role – 1:1 Teaching Assistant

The role of the 1:1 Teaching Assistant is a long-term, full-time position starting immediately working in a mainstream primary school supporting an SEN student on a 1:1 basis in the class. The role will consist of acting as a role model and being the number one support system for your designated student and working with them to achieve a range of daily and weekly goals. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will be reporting to the SENCO and be guided and supported with resources to support the designated 1:1 student you will be working with. The 1:1 student has ASC and can exhibit traits of challenging behaviour, the suitable candidate will be supportive, nurturing, but also have a firm and assertive approach and a strong presence within the classroom.
