As an IT Project Engineer you will play a significant role within our Engineering team to help us deliver our solutions into live operational service for our suite of products across our entire customer portfolio. This role reports into the Engineering Delivery Manager for the organisation and forms part of an Engineering Delivery team dedicated to the deploying mission critical integrated bespoke software and solutions into blue light emergency services market. Our IT Project Engineer will be required to work professionally in liaison with several internal teams to coordinate various activities and gather / provide information required to complete the tasks at hand.
Location: Hybrid: UK onsite locations / working from home
Hours: 37.5 hrs per week Mon – Fri (09:00 – 17:30)
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Building, Commissioning, and upgrades of DSX, Vision & Control Works product solutions into and within our customer environments.
Fault finding SSS-Public Safety product suite of solution/s at both hardware and software levels.
When required, create, review and update Engineering documentation, for example workplans, work instructions and technical guides.
Working from a variety of locations and extensive travel should be expected, including overnight stays.
Customer contact on both a technical and non-technical level requiring a professional and adaptable approach to communication and interaction / service.
Working both in a team and, potentially autonomously where projects dictate a limited engineering requirement. An increasing level of autonomy is typically achieved after some time in post and suitable experience has been gained.
Our ideal candidate will have/be:
Experience in troubleshooting and problem solving
A good understanding of Microsoft active directory / domain architecture
Proven experience administering and working with Microsoft Windows 10, Windows Server up to 2019
Proven Experience deploying Microsoft Windows and server Operating systems
Proven Experience deploying Microsoft Windows Updates (WSUS)
Working knowledge of MySQL/MSSQL (running backups, running queries, etc)
Proven knowledge and experience of virtualisation environments (Hyper-V or VMware)
Full and clean UK driving licence and own vehicle
Desirable skills would include:
Basic understanding of VOIP / SIP protocols
Scripting experience / Knowledge (Batch, MYSQL, PowerShell)
Hyper-V Failover Clustering experience / Knowledge
Networking experience / Knowledge (CISCO Switch and router basic installation and configuration)
Good knowledge of MySQL/MSSQL (User Administration, Creation of jobs including backups, writing / understanding queries)
Proven experience with Microsoft Azure (VM deployment and maintenance)
Proven experience with deploying / administering Symantec Anti-Virus or similar AV solution
