Job Description

Sports Coach Required – September 2022

Ark Attwood Primary Acadmey

Westminster (Amberley Rd, London W9 2JY)

Pay: £100 – £130 per day

Long Term (Potentially Permanent)


The post holder will be actively involved in the Games and PE programme across the whole Primary School.  They will contribute significantly to the leadership and coaching of school sports from Early Years right through to Year 6.

Key Accountabilities

Sport and PE responsibilities

•To assist with the planning, coaching and teaching of boys and girls during PE and Games lessons

•To play an active part in the extra-curricular and co-curricular sports programme across the School

•To attend and support sporting fixtures and run sports teams.

•To be responsible for individual teams on match days and undertake officiating duties as required.

•To take a proactive role in organising, maintaining equipment and supplies as needed for the implementation of the various sporting activities.

•To provide the PE Department with basic administrative and logistical support as needed

•To assist with the organisation of sporting fixtures and trips other large sporting events happening throughout the year

•To referee and umpire matches as appropriate.

•To contribute to the PE department by attending departmental meetings.

•To lead lunchtime and after school sports activities as required

•To assisting teachers with the delivery of PE lessons.


•To establish effective working relationships and set a good example through presentation and personal and professional conduct

•To take responsibility for own professional development

•To carry out duties in relation to school policies and practices

•To support and promote the school’s aims and ethos

•To participate in arrangements that may be made for staff appraisal

•To participate and contribute to regular department/ curriculum meetings in accordance with the published rota

•To attend staff meetings, pastoral meetings, INSET, CPD, Open Days and other functions of a similar nature as deemed necessary by the Head and/or Senior Management Team

•To undertake any other duties and responsibilities as reasonably required by the Headteacher.

Safeguarding Responsibilities

•To comply with safeguarding policies, procedures and code of conduct

•To demonstrate a personal commitment to safeguarding and student/colleague wellbeing

•To ensure that any safeguarding concerns or incidents are reported appropriately in line with policy

•To engage in safeguarding training when required
