Job Description

Assistant Contracts Manager required in Essex

GVR Solutions are working with a well-established Bespoke Joinery & Fit Out specialist, who operate in the Commercial, Retail, Residential & Hospitality sectors. Due to finishing 2021 well and having a strong order book for 2022, they are looking to take on an Assistant Contracts Manager to help assist the Contracts Managers in running multiple projects. They are currently turning over £7m but are looking to increase that steadily back to £15m where they were a few years ago.

The projects they undertake range from light strip outs & fit outs around £150k, to more bespoke projects from £500k upwards to £7m. These projects are mainly in London & the South East but can be a little further afield. A large percentage of their work is through repeat business, this is achieved through their high standards of service and quality, which then provides excellent customer satisfaction.

This role is very unique in being a hybrid role, which means you are able to work remotely from wither the office, various project sites or even from home. As this is an Assistant role however, it would be beneficial to work around the other Contracts Managers to learn from them as much as possible.

As an Assistant Contracts Manager you will assist on larger projects, and be responsible yourself on smaller projects for:

* Day to day running of the projects

* Ownership & Leadership of the team

* Attending pre-contract and Site meetings from start to finish

* Liaising with Internal teams on project progress and problems

* Liaising with Design teams and internal management to ensure Health & Safety and Quality Standards

* Liaising with Client and ensure Client satisfaction throughout the project

* Establishing relationships with Subcontractors and Site Manager to ensure smooth running or the project

* Working with Internal teams regarding procurement

* Managing risk

* Reporting all aspects of the project, Cost, timeframes, problems, risks, solutions

The ideal Assistant Contracts Manager must have/be:

* A firm interest or background in Joinery or Fit Out projects

* Have the ability to handle multiple tasks and problem solve

* Client facing

* Use initiative

* Ability to ask questions

* Excellent communication and oral skills

* The ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines

* Dynamic & Driven

* Strong attention to detail

* Organised

* Relevant I.T skills
