Job Description

My client, an award winning Global Digital Communications business is looking for someone to join their team in Dagenham to cover a maternity leave.
Main purpose of the job:
To undertake administration duties within the Finance team ensuring service excellence is achieved through:
• a “can-do” and efficient approach to service
• 100% quality of output for all aspects of accounts management
• adherence to all deadlines/service level agreements (SLA’s)
Key Attributes:
The Accounts Department have to be responsive to internal and client dictated timescales, which are often challenging. The Billings Assistant therefore needs to be flexible and capable of working well under pressure.
Main Duties:
• Checking that invoices are internal audit compliant and that all relevant information is stored in the correct place. Returning any that do not comply to the author and chasing them up for corrections
• Checking invoices for compliance to VAT rules
• Checking invoices for errors – spelling etc, dates and VAT
• Preparation of various reports
• Preparing credit notes and all their backing information and obtaining authorisation
• Preparing any non trade invoicing such as rents etc
• General office duties
• Filing of documents
• Liaise with Management accounts in order to complete monthly reconciliations.
• Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines in the department
• Dealing with system enquiries
• Other ad hoc projects.
Required Skills:
Excellent IT skills – Advanced user of Excel preferred.
Good organisational skills, attention to detail, good communicator, able to use own initiative.
To undertake any other duties as and when required. In addition to the above duties and responsibilities, the post holder must be prepared to undertake such additional duties which may result from changing circumstances, but which may not of necessity change the general character or level of responsibility to the post
