Job Description

Overview of the role:

Hours and location: 40+ hours per week, Mondays – Fridays.

The role will be based at Barking Rail.

WARD are looking for a Non-Ferrous Supervisor to join our team at Barking Rail. The role will include supervising the team working in the Non-Ferrous store and carrying out general duties to ensure an efficient and continuous stream of material through the site. The role also includes operating various pieces of plant and machinery, sorting and preparing materials and carrying out general maintenance and cleaning duties.

Key Responsibilities:

The role includes, but is not limited to:

* Supervise and train non-ferrous yard employees

* Ensure timely movement and sorting of non-ferrous scrap

* Supporting Ward in achieving continuous improvement in performance and profitability.

* To maintain effective relationships within the Company by being an active member of the team, supporting colleagues, managers, customers and the company at all times.

* To be flexible in order to contribute to the success of the business.

* Ensure excellent internal and external customer satisfaction.

* To ensure that standards of health, safety and welfare is in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Company and the relevant statutory requirements.

* Ensure that full training and instruction has taken place before operating any plant or equipment.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

The ideal candidate must have knowledge and experience working within the scrap metal industry. Holding various plant and machinery qualifications is also beneficial but not essential. You must be able to create effective working relationships and gain the trust of Managers and fellow employees.
