Job Description

Job Title: Nursery Early Years Practitioner Level / Level 3
Location: London Borough of Haringey
Salary: Up to £26,000 per annum (experience dependent).
Job type: Permanent, Full time.
The Role:
Here at Keiki Day Care we provide children aged from 3 months to 5 years old with educational and fun learning and development activities. We offer both full and part time day care, catering to individual requirements.
We are looking for Practitioners that will join our team in providing high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children placed in the setting. You must ensure the children have access to learning opportunities throughout their time at the nursery; providing learning activities which are educational, stimulating and fun.
Candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
* To follow Keiki's Policies and Procedures and keep up to date with the staff handbook in compliance with the Children's act and H&S legislation.
* To support the Team Leader in implementing the daily routine bring activity ideas to the team.
* Organised and prepared on a day to day basis to help with set up for children's room set up.
* Support all staff and engage in a good staff team ethic.
* Help maintain high quality of care for each individual child whilst catering for all needs at every point of the children's development.
* To develop your role within the team especially with regard as a key worker.
* To keep a Learning portfolio of achievement file on your key children, for parents/carers.
* To be flexible within the working practices of setting.
* Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the Nursery, e.g. Room covering, preparation of snack meals, sterilising of equipment etc.
* Work with parents / carers of special needs children to give full integration in the setting.
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
* Level 2 and Level 3 in Childhood Practice or equivalent.
* Work experience within the Early Years Sector.
* Knowledge of the early year's curriculum and regulatory requirement.
* Proven ability to work as part of team to ensure essential day to day tasks are completed in line with nursery demands ie. Hygiene standards and room preparation.
* Sound understanding of child protection and safeguarding children.
* Desire and passion for ongoing learning and personal development.
