SANZA Teaching Agency are currently recruiting for an "Outdoor learning teacher" for a large three from of entry, Ofsted Outstanding School based near Maida Vale – to join from January 2021 (or sooner). We seek a passionate individual who enjoys working with children in the great outdoors and can continue to develop the curriculum and. A background in Education would be helpful, but not necessary, as the applicant would need to have the ability and confidence to lead classes of up to 30 children at a time.

ROLE

Are you a diverse Primary Teacher with a keen interest in outdoor learning? This position will be taking the curriculum outdoors. To Enhance problems solving skills to communication and resilience, outdoor learning provides endless opportunities for exploration, experimentation and contextual learning. During the academic year, all pupils sow and grow crops for consumption and engage in outdoor activities that enhance their understanding of the world around them and their place in it. They also have a Forest School where children learning about Nature and outdoor environment through creative play. This role would suit a creative Teacher who has a passion for Art, Drama and everything outdoors and is able to transition this to an "Outdoor curriculum".

Key responsibilities:

With direction from the leadership team, plan, prepare and implement an effective and progressive outdoor learning programme.

Maintain an exciting, engaging and creative space in the outdoor learning eco-cabin.

Implement an annual growing plan that enables pupils to sow, grow and eventually consume their chosen produce,

Further develop the programme of an annual adventure day for each class, which supplements and develops areas of the core curriculum offer.

Teach progressive, engaging, knowledge and vocabulary-rich lessons across the key stages that motivate and inspire pupils to learn about the outdoors, linking where possible to the science and geography curriculums.

Create year group scrapbooks to document pupils' work and the outdoor learning journey.

Run two outdoor learning after school clubs weekly
