Job Description

Pipe Fitter.

Our Company specialises in the provision of mechanical engineering services to a wide range of industrial sectors including nuclear, petrochemical, oil and gas, energy and utilities. We are looking to recruit experienced Pipefitters to start work immediately in our Fabrication Shop in Basildon and sites in the Essex / London area.

Job Description:

* Interpret and work from general arrangement drawings, isometrics or sketches. When required site measurement of field run pipework and the production of sketches to facilitate fabrication. ·

* General skills including recognition of materials, marking out, cutting, shaping and drilling materials using hand held power tools including grinders, air saws, disc cutters together with other percussive tools, use of oxy-fuel cutting equipment and plasma equipment both by hand or using profile machines and cold bending. ·

* Preparing pipe and section material, setting up for tack welding. Preparing pipe for welding, aligning pipe and fittings, setting up and tack welding pipes. ·

* Cut and thread pipe using hand held and portable thread cutting machine plus making threaded joints. ·

* Checking of dimensional and angular accuracy for flanges, bends and branches. ·

* Record material heat codes and red line dimensions on working copies of drawings. · Making of flange joints, installation of valves and ancillary in line equipment, use of bolt torquing Equipment. ·

* Cold and hot bending. ·

* Testing, both pneumatic and hydrostatic, using calibrated test gauges. ·

* Commissioning activities. ·

* Undertake company/ site inductions and specific training courses as determined by the Company. ·

* Have a positive attitude and an enthusiastic approach to work and quality of work produced. ·

* Work as an integral part of a team, which may from time to time involve assisting other trades in carrying out their duties in a diligent and safe manner. ·

* Maintain timekeeping in line with specific site regulations. ·

* Work within confines of the company's health, safety & environmental policies and safety guidelines, as well as applicable client and government rules and regulations. ·

* Follow all Company procedures, policies, work instructions, method statements, risk assessments, permits, safety and quality procedures and working practices.

Requirements: ·

CSCS / CCNSG preferable

Job Type: Full time, permanent & CIS

Salary: Negotiable, competitive rate based on experience Schedule: · 8 hour shift (Monday to Friday 07.30 – 16.00) · 28 days holiday (including Bank/Public Holidays)

Contract specific overtime available

Experience: · Pipefitting 5 years (preferred)
