Platform Engineer – AWS / Terraform

Overview:
An excellent opportunity has arisen with our client who are a unique Fintech organisation, providing best in market tools and applications. We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to ensure the infrastructure is built and maintained in an efficient and secure manner and assist the engineering team during an exciting phase for the platform.

This is a brilliant opportunity to work for a global brand with an excellent working culture, you will support the infrastructure, software applications, development and integration teams to continuously improve the platform.

Role & Responsibilities:

Accountable for ensuring that infrastructure is built and maintained in an efficient and secure manner
Ensure timely feedback of monitoring and alerting to stakeholders, facilitate the appropriate communication channels among software delivery, BusOps roles and with Engineering stakeholders, and continuously improve the platform
High level of infrastructure automation
Adequate preventative maintenance of infrastructure
Early detection of system failures and issues
Requirements:

Understanding of public clouds and hands on knowledge on building cloud based environments, particularly AWS and container orchestration
Infrastructure as Code using terraform
Infrastructure observability using tools such as Promethes, Thanos and Grafana
Production Kuberentes & Docker experience at scale (nice to have)
CI/CD orchestration using SAAS tools such as GitLab
Excellent communication skills, ability to work within cross-functional teams and delivery oriented
Proven ability writing effective procedures and policies which can be used by other staff and are maintained within a review lifecycle
Capable of writing code to deliver highly automated infrastructure environments that support the wider Engineering organisation using an agile methodology
Experience and willingness operating 24x7x365 customer focused environment
System administration level knowledge of Linux, Apache, Tomcat
Experience of software release management, git flow
Contract Details:

£750 – £800 per day
Inside IR35
Hybrid working – predominantly remote, London 2X per month
12 month contract
