Job Description

Portfolio Manager – Professional Services – Hybrid – London – Midlands – up to £80,000 + benefits – MSP – Managed Services – Portfolio

Concept Resourcing are working with a wonderful Manged Services Provider who have significant growth plans over the next few years. We are looking for a Portfolio Manager to join the Team on a permanent basis. The Portfolio Manager is responsible for the delivery of client portfolios: managing inter-dependencies, and optimising resources. With the support of a Technical Lead the Portfolio Manager will ensure all projects are subject to Technical assurance.

The Portfolio Manager will be accountable for the delivery of the portfolio, working closely with sales teams to manage demand.

The Portfolio Manager will also be accountable for seamless acceptance into Service – and Service Commencement.

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Project and Programme Team and will be accountable for the management of a flexible pool of project managers and technical architects (permanent or contracted resources).

Key responsibilities:

Overall responsibility for the management and delivery of all projects within scope, time, and budget
Working closely with the sales teams, identifying project demand, and forecasting resource and revenue
Ensure projects have clear objectives and scope, with clearly defined roles and responsibilities,
Manage and maintain inflight project resource requirements, deliverables, schedule, and milestones
Ensure the team successfully manage projects from initiation to delivery and handover in to support
Accountable and oversight of project risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions. Ensure strategies and corrective actions are implemented to mitigate risks and issues
Establish project budgets as part of the production of business cases and manage, track and report project finances to ensure delivery within authorised budgets
Mentoring of project managers and managing a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities, sharing knowledge and experience through formal and informal management initiatives
Organising projects and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the customer/organisation.
Ensuring goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, quality, and team member performance
Implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.
Producing accurate and timely dashboard reports covering each project's status throughout its life cycle.
Running effective Portfolio Boards, to ensure that key challenges are focused on and resolved.
Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to command respect and to create a sense of community amongst the members of the project team
Target account growth by developing strong customer relationships
Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling projects (i.e. Prince 2, APM)

You will be experienced in Project Management, Portfolio Management & PMO and have working within a Manages Services environment. You will also have:

Strong business engagement and business partnering skills
Track-record of delivering a wide range of business change and technology projects
Ability to manage multiple projects as a delivery portfolio
Experience with working with Network Teams
Providing Enterprise Solutions
Exposure to Power BI Apps would be highly desirable
