Job Title: Product Design Graduate / Resistant Material Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Design Graduate to join our team at a Secondary School in Harrow as a Resistant Material Technician. As a technician, you will play a key role in supporting the Design and Technology Department by providing technical assistance to teachers and students.

Responsibilities:

Preparing and setting up equipment, tools and materials for practical lessons
Maintaining and organising the workshop and storage areas
Ensuring a safe and clean working environment
Providing technical support to students and teachers during practical lessons
Helping with the design and development of teaching materials and resources
Assisting with the administration and stock control of equipment and materials
Supporting the department with additional tasks as required
Requirements:

A degree in Product Design or a related subject
Strong technical knowledge and practical skills in Resistant Materials
Experience of working in a similar role within a school or educational setting is desirable
Excellent organisational and communication skills
A positive and flexible approach to work
A commitment to promoting health and safety in the workshop
This is a full-time, long-term position with working hours of 36 hours per week. The contract will run until the end of the academic year in the first instance, with the possibility of extension. The starting rate of pay is £13.50 per hour.
