Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant
* 1 to 1 support
* Reception Class
* Full-time
* New Cross Primary School
* September 2022 – July 2023
We are currently looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child with special needs in a reception class in an outstanding primary school in New Cross.
The Role
In this role you will be providing 1 to 1 support for a child in reception. The child has various needs some of which are diagnosed and some are still being assessed. The child is non-verbal, has developmental needs and will require support with a range of activities both in the classroom and in playtimes/lunchtimes. There will be a requirement to provide personal care for the child. You will work closely with the class teacher to prepare individual learning tasks and ensure the pupil understands the work set, knows their learning objectives and stays on task in order to make progress.
You will also work under the direction of the Inclusion Leader to:
* implement group or 1:1 interventions
* understand Individual Education Plans & Behaviour Support Plans and assist to implement these, under the guidance of the teacher
* provide feedback to pupils and staff in relation to progress and achievement
Your role will also include lunchtime supervision within EYFS/KS1.
