Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Croydon. The school caters for students with MLD, SLCN, ASD and Physical Disabilities.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children with special educational needs, specifically in primary schools. You must be patient, understanding, and empathetic towards children who require extra support in their learning.

Responsibilities:

Supporting the class teacher in planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons
Providing one-to-one support for students with special educational needs
Supporting students with personal care and physical needs
Encouraging and motivating students to reach their full potential
Working collaboratively with other staff members, parents, and external agencies
Maintaining accurate records of student progress and monitoring individual targetsRequirements:

Experience working with children with special educational needs in a primary school setting
Understanding of different types of SEN, including MLD, SLCN, ASD, and Physical Disabilities
Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff members
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Relevant qualifications or training, such as NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools, or equivalentIf you are passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and are looking for a new challenge, then we would love to hear from you.
