Job Description

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Location: Hounslow
Salary Scale:  £75- £80
Start Date: September 2022
GSL Education Watford is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant for one of our client schools. The school requires an experienced professional who has the love for working with children having special needs. The selection of applicants will be based on a trial and interview with the school.

The School:
This is a mixed, multi-ethnic 11-18 comprehensive school with outstanding reputation, inspected by OFSTED in May 2013. The campus is equipped with amazing architecture and modern classroom facilities.  The school offers  plenty of career development opportunities to new Teachers such as dedicated one hour CPL session each week. It has a very collegial environment and is filled with extremely well led educators. The management is incredibly understanding and supportive when it comes to solving a personal crisis of the teachers.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary), you will possess the following:

Level 2/3 SEN Qualification
At least one year of experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a school setting
Energetic and patient with strong classroom management skills and the understanding of inclusion, making all learners feel acceptable and promote the idea of inclusive learning
Capable to understand and implement the school’s behaviour policy, the SEN Policy and the code of conduct including the issuing of rewards and sanctions within the academy’s policies and procedures.
Strong communication skills
Experience in undertaking observations for assessment of SEN children  
You are required to have the following:

The Right to Work in the UK
An enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application through us
Two professional child related references
