Senior Account Manager (Corporate Communications)

Solis Recruitment have partnered with an exciting and growing Marketing and Communications Consultancy on the lookout for a Senior Account Manager to join their team in either London or Guildford.

They work with a range of exciting clients, conducting creative integrated campaigns, and delivering clients results. They take the time to understand their clients’ needs and help create strategic plans to address their needs.

This role will be joining a growing Corporate Communications Team, working a variety of campaigns. The role will suit someone versatile and consultative in their approach.

Role

The Senior Account Manager will be responsible for managing their clients. They will need to build a strong understanding of their clients’ business, industry and competitive market in corporate communications and the media and be able to demonstrate both strong media communications skills as well as expert client management ability.

They will work closely with Account Directors, and work on the delivery and execution of strategies. The Senior Account Manager will ensure that objectives and KPIs are being adhered to, and that their accounts are well organised and being run smoothly and profitably, achieving high client satisfaction levels.

They will look to develop strong relations with existing clients, play an active part in pitching and winning new business, having input at all stages from the initial approach and research stage, through to development of strategic plans and creative proposals, and leading pitch teams as and when required.

Day to day responsibilities include:

* Contribute to the design of the communications strategy and demonstrate a strong understanding of the objectives and requirements.

* Execute the day-to-day communications strategy, managing up to the Account Director and overseeing junior staff.

* Run and manage the client activity calendar or planner. Proactively remind Account Directors and more junior staff of forthcoming planned activity and events to ensure it is executed in a timely manner.

* Keep abreast of external issues and events and regularly review impact on programme and client objectives.

* Ensure all meeting materials, e.g. agenda, media reports, contact report etc. are prepared accurately.

* Build good relationships with your client at the appropriate level and support in the overall management of client relationships to the best of your capability.

* Running account-handling teams in a structured manner, ensuring that the team is fulfilling the plans on time, and achieving the results as agreed with client

* Drive the media relations programme for all clients as laid out in the PR or activity plan. Know the relevant journalists and cultivate relationships with them.

* Pro-actively seek and identify publicity opportunities to ensure that the maximum level of coverage is achieved for your client, project, etc.

* Maintain a focus and awareness of account profitability and work with your Account Director to ensure the account is kept profitable

* Proactively build your own network of referrers and contacts where possible to help develop new business streams as well as building broader positive awareness of the business

* Participate proactively in all pitch processes, support on research, pitch strategy and development take ownership of holding the master on pitch documents where appropriate and help drive the entire process as directed by your Director

Skills and Experience

To be successful in your application for the Senior Account Manager you will:

* Have 4+ years experience with PR and experience working with Corporate clients on a range of integrated communications campaigns

* Excellent proven communications skills – both written and verbal

* Attention to detail

* In-depth knowledge of PR industry processes and practices

* Established media relationships and proactively building new relations with journalists and media. Proven experience in pitching and securing coverage to nationals and broadcast is essential

* Ability to work under pressure and ensure deadlines are met, including managing multiple PR programmes

* Presentation and pitch presenting skills

* Preparing proposals

* Ability to work as part of a team

Experience working within Crisis Communications is highly desirable,
