Quantity Surveyor – Public Sector

London

60k+ (negotiable depending on experience)

Hunter Mason are on the market for a Quantity Surveyor. This role will entail acting as the right-hand man to the Director who Is looking over the department with a mind to facilitate the growth of the team. This role will have a particular focus on tenders and the successful candidate will be commercially astute and able to effectively liaise with stakeholders. This is a brilliant chance to get in on the ground floor of a team in a rapidly expanding company.

Your new role as a quantity surveyor

As a quantity surveyor your responsibilities will include the following:

* Budgeting

* Assisting the tendering process

* Cashflow forecasting

* Subcontractor procurement and negotiation

* Monthly valuations with the Client’s QS

* Change management

* Pricing of variations and the provision of timely cost advice

* Remeasurement

* Working closely with the Contract

* Managers in the delivery of the projects

* Subcontract account management to FA

* Monthly CVRs

* Reporting to the Directors

* Closing out of project Final Accounts

* Preparation of tender submissions for all allocated work

* Engaging with specialist subcontractors, suppliers, designers and utility companies (or similar) to ensure competitive an accurate tender is submitted

* Establish the resources required for each project

* Measuring and take-offs from drawings to Build-up of tender price from first principles based on plans, programme and scope of works

* Cost Planning

* Producing bills-of-quantities

* Pre and post Contract meetings with clients

* Proactively seek new leads and fostering new client

The Requirements:

The successful candidate for this role will be an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in the Commercial sector, candidates either qualified by experience of qualified by a degree will both be considered
