SYSTEMS ENGINEER (SOLARIS, LINUX AND AIX)- REMOTE – CONTRACT

Leading Managed Services Provider in the Public and Defence Sector requires a senior engineer to join our Enterprise Management support team. As part of a small team within a larger operations organization, your role will be to enable the delivery of change to EM platforms and managed servers that are critical to our customer. You will do this through scripting, orchestration and automation.

Duration: 3 months rolling contract

**A national security clearance is required for this role but candidates not holding this level of clearance will be considered**

Key responsibilities –

Identify, develop and implement ways to exploit existing enterprise management toolsets to deliver efficiencies for our support teams and customers.
Resolution of incidents and problems relating to enterprise management infrastructure.
Delivering infrastructure change and projects.
Identifying and delivering service improvements.
They will be empowered to identity better ways of doing things and share your ideas. They will be supported and encouraged to attain skills and continued growth of technical capability, with opportunities to work with all our operational teams (inc. Windows, UNIX, Storage and Backup teams) to enhance that learning. Experience

Significant experience in enterprise server environments (both physical and virtual Windows, Solaris, Linux and AIX).
Previous working knowledge of Nagios based enterprise management tools would be an advantage.
UNIX/ POWERSHELL scripting skills as well as Python, Perl and Ansible experience desirable.
Knowledge of AZURE, AWS cloud environments.
Knowledge of SQL databases.
Technical leadership during projects and live service events.
Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication.
Awareness of the ITIL Service Management framework and specifically incident and change management.
