The Client

I am working with a market leading foreign exchange company with a multi-billion pound wholesale business and over 10 years’ trusted experience providing tailor-made travel money solutions for companies in the finance, travel and retail sectors.

The Role – Wholesale Back Office Control Manager

The role of the Back Office Control Manager is to ensure that all Wholesale Back Office activities are completed each working day to support Wholesale Dealing activity. Ensuring all nostro statements are reconciled and any outstanding resolves asap. Ensuring cash centres are within required limits and outstanding kept to minimum. Produce department daily, weekly and monthly reporting, within required deadline

Main Responsibilities;

* Manage Back Office Control function and monitor staff performance to ensure high level of accuracy and control is maintained for Nostro reconciliation and Cash Management

* Produce daily, weekly and monthly control reports

* Produce daily P&L (D100 & D200) reporting for senior management

* Manage pipeline reporting, forecast against actuals and Maintain high levels of controls to ensure that the business achieves the minimum pass level for internal and external audits

* Assist the team in identifying and implementing process improvements and efficiencies for the overall Wholesale Business

* Assist the Back Office Manager as required

* Review the day to day nostro reconciliations and cash management processes covering nostro investigations and cash discrepancies, ensuring outstanding are manageable and where possible outstanding do not exceed 10 days for nostro and 60 days for cash management items

* Manage staff training / development, performance management process, sickness and vacation reporting

* Help with risk identification and ensure that adequate controls are implemented

* Assist in moving department processes forward, potential automation, process change to reduce manual functions but at all times ensuring controls in place

* Work with Processing Manager to ensure all roles are covered, staff cross trained and procedures are current

* Cross train on Processing functions for overall understanding of Back Office workflows

* Support wholesale projects and Back Office Manager, when required

Experience we’re looking for;

* Proven ability in a similar business environment and have strong management experience

* Experience of managing team through change implementations

* Knowledge and experience of banking products including FX, Money Market, Banknotes and Payments and Nostro Reconciliations and investigations

* Systems: MS Office to intermediate level.(Essential)

* SWIFT knowledge
