The Role:

Working for a leading Tool and Equipment Hire company, we are looking for a Workshop Manager. Reporting to the head of workshops, you will have previous engineering management / supervisory experience supporting fitters working on a range of Small Tools and equipment including Stihl Saws, Petrol Generators, Hydraulic Power Packs, 110v Power Tools. This is a hands on position managing the effective running of the workshop facility, including mentoring the service engineers, ordering spare parts, managing in line with the workshop budget. As part of the role you will also be expected to assist within the depot as required.

Managing effectively a small workshop team
Supporting and mentoring the engineering team
Maintain and exceed workshop targets and efficiency
Managing again the workshop budget
Ordering spare parts and consumables
PDIs, servicing and repairing tool hire equipment
Work well under pressure
Maintain health & safety to HSE and company standards

Skills:

The ideal candidate for the Workshop Manager – Tool Hire  role will have:

Previous experience in one or more of the following roles: Service Manager, Foreman; Workshop Manager, Chargehand
IT literate
Managing / supervising engineering teams
You will need previous experience repairing and servicing tool hire equipment
Analytical approach to problem solving
Able to work without instruction
Current UK driving licence
